Line the dish with pastry and chill.

Toss the apples with sugar, cornflour, cinnamon, cider and lemon juice.

Fill the shell and dot with butter.

Lattice the top and crimp the edges.

Bake at 200C for 20 minutes, then 180C for 35 minutes until thickly bubbling.

Cool at least 2 hours before slicing.
