Instructions

Cream the butter and brown sugar, then beat in the molasses and egg.

Whisk together flour, baking soda and spices, then mix into the wet ingredients to form a soft dough.

Chill the dough for 30 minutes if it is very soft.

Roll into balls and coat each in granulated sugar.
