Cream the softened butter with the caster sugar and beat in the eggs.

Fold in the flour and baking powder alternately with the milk.

Toss the berries in a spoonful of flour and fold them through gently.

Spread in a lined tin.

Rub the cold butter into the topping flour, brown sugar and cinnamon and scatter over.

Bake at 175C for 45-50 minutes until a skewer comes out clean; cool before cutting.

Flouring the berries stops them all sinking to the bottom of the tin.
