Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 400Β°F.
- 2
Roll out the puff pastry slightly. Cut the dough into rectangles.
- 3
Place a slice of guava paste and cream cheese on one half of each rectangle.
- 4
Fold the pastry over the filling. Press the edges with a fork to seal them tightly.
- 5
Brush the tops with beaten egg. Sprinkle sugar over each pastry.
- 6
Bake for 15-18 minutes until puffed and golden.
- 7
Let them cool slightly before serving.
Chef's tips
Keep the puff pastry cold until you are ready to fill it so it rises well. Cut small shallow slits on top to let steam escape.
Storage
Store at room temperature up to 2 days, or refrigerate up to 5 days.
Reheating
Warm in a 350Β°F oven for 5-8 minutes to re-crisp.
Common mistakes to avoid
- β’Letting the pastry get too warm so it does not puff properly
- β’Adding too much filling so it leaks out during baking
