Instructions

Preheat the oven to 220C and line a baking sheet.

Combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a bowl.

Rub the cold butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Stir in the raisins, then add the milk and mix just until a soft dough forms.

Pat the dough out to about 2 cm thick and cut into rounds.

Place on the baking sheet and bake 12-15 minutes until golden.

Cool slightly and serve warm, split and buttered.

Toss the raisins with a spoon of the flour mixture before mixing in so they do not sink to the bottom.
