Whisk the dry ingredients in a big bowl.

Beat the eggs with the buttermilk and melted butter.

Pour the wet into the dry and fold about ten times โ lumps are correct.

Fold in the berries with two more turns of the spoon.

Divide between paper cases, sprinkle with coarse sugar and bake at 200C for 20-22 minutes.

Cool 5 minutes in the tin before lifting out.

Toss frozen berries in a spoon of the flour before folding them in so they do not streak the batter.
