Chef's tips
Keep an even bed of coals and turn the Dutch oven and lid occasionally so it bakes evenly.
Storage
Cover and store leftovers at room temperature up to 1 day, or refrigerate up to 3 days.
Reheating
Rewarm over low coals or in a conventional oven at 325ยฐF until heated through.
Common mistakes to avoid
- โขUsing too few coals on the lid, which leaves the topping pale and raw
- โขAdding too much fruit juice, which makes the topping soggy
