Instructions
- 1
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan on the stovetop.
- 2
Take the pan off the heat. Add the tea bags and let them steep for 8-10 minutes.
- 3
Take out the tea bags. Stir in the sugar until it completely dissolves.
- 4
Gently mash the sliced peaches and add them to the hot tea. Let them soak for 10 minutes.
- 5
Strain out the fruit if you prefer. Pour the tea into a large pitcher.
- 6
Pour in the remaining 4 cups of cold water. Stir everything together well.
- 7
Refrigerate the tea until cold. Serve over ice with fresh peach slices.
Chef's tips
Stir the sugar into the hot tea so it completely dissolves instead of sinking to the bottom. Gently mash some of the fresh peaches into the tea for more flavor.
Storage
Refrigerate up to 3 days in a covered pitcher.
Reheating
Serve cold over ice; not intended to be reheated.
Common mistakes to avoid
- โขSteeping the tea bags too long, which makes the tea taste bitter
- โขAdding sugar to cold tea, which leaves it grainy instead of dissolved
