Instructions
- 1
Put two tall glasses in the freezer for a few minutes to chill.
- 2
Add two scoops of vanilla ice cream into each glass.
- 3
Slowly pour Green River soda over the ice cream. Pour gently so it does not foam over.
- 4
Let the float sit for a moment while the bubbles settle.
- 5
Add whipped cream on top if you like.
- 6
Top each with a maraschino cherry. Serve right away with a straw and a long spoon.
Chef's tips
Pour the soda slowly down the inside of the glass to control the foam. Use very cold soda for the best fizz.
Storage
Best made and served immediately.
Reheating
Not applicable.
Common mistakes to avoid
- โขPouring the soda too fast, which makes it bubble over the top
- โขUsing melted ice cream, which makes the float flat
