Instructions

Mix mahua flour, jowar flour, carom seeds, and salt in a bowl.

Stir in chopped onion and green chilli, if using.

Pour in warm water a little at a time. Knead into a soft, bendy dough.

Divide the dough into small balls.

Pat each ball into a flat disc between wet palms or on a damp cloth. Do not use a rolling pin.

Heat a tawa (flat griddle) on medium heat. Cook each disc with a drizzle of oil until brown spots appear on both sides.

Serve warm.

Pat the dough by hand instead of using a rolling pin. Keep your hands wet so the dough does not stick while shaping.
